*BLUE CORN MOON (Selman)
2006 [(ARABIAN MAGIC x Seedling)
X MAGNIFICENT RAINBOW] 34" M SEV 6" TET BLUE CORN MOON has orchid-lavender
blooms with a lavender-blue watermark outlined lavender-purple, above a
yellow-green throat. Extremely sunfast, it glows in the afternoon garden
and "shines back at the sun" when other daylilies are suffering from the
heat. Very hardy with sturdy three-way branching and 15 to 18 well-spaced
buds. Fertile both ways.
The "Blue Corn Moon" is also
known as the "Havest Moon" and occurs in the "Colors Of The Wind" lyrics:
"Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the Blue Corn Moon?"
