*ASHEVILLE SOCIAL BUTTERFLY
(Selman) 2005
(SUBTLE CHARM X TETRA BARBARA
MITCHELL)
46" M DOR 6" TET
The consistently unusual form
of ASHEVILLE SOCIAL BUTTERFLY always gathers attention in the garden. The
wide, ruffled and recurved, rose-pink petals are edged in white and twist
slightly. The very long and graceful sepals cascade downward with a slight,
but ever present, spooning at the ends. The substance is very thick and
the sepals are reminiscent of melted plastic. It has very strong and tall
scapes that gracefully sway in even the heaviest of breezes. 3-way branching
and 16 buds. Pollen fertile.
Extremely limited.
